You Are More Than Enough

Scripture:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
—Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

Hannah didn’t sign up for this.

She was a woman of faith, a beloved wife, and yet—childless. In her own home, she faced not only the ache of unanswered prayers but the sharp sting of comparison. Peninnah, her husband’s other wife, had what Hannah longed for. And instead of using her blessing to uplift, she used it to taunt. Day and night, Hannah was reminded she was “less than,” “incomplete,” “not enough.”

To make matters worse, the very man who loved her—Elkanah—had taken matters into his own hands. In trying to find a solution, he unintentionally exposed her. What was meant to protect ended up wounding. And suddenly, Hannah found herself walking a lonely path—one she never asked for and couldn’t fix.

But here’s the truth: she wasn’t really alone.

God was watching. Listening. Collecting every tear. Not just on the day she prayed at the temple, but even before that—during the nights she cried herself to sleep and the mornings she chose to get up anyway.

Hannah’s story reminds us that even when we feel overlooked, we are seen. Even when others label us by what we lack, God calls us by who we are: chosen, loved, and more than enough.

Maybe today you’re carrying a silent ache. Maybe someone else’s blessing feels like your reminder that you’re still waiting. Or maybe someone tried to “fix” you with human solutions that only made you feel more broken.

Let Hannah’s story whisper to your heart: You are not forgotten. You are not less. You are not alone.

And above all—you are more than enough.
